BASF will found battery research center

German chemical products giant BASF group recently announced that it will set up an R & D lab and an application technology research center in Japan, focusing on high performance battery electrolyte and electrode materials.

BASF plans in Japan Amagasaki city (Amagasaki) to build a research laboratory and a applied technology center, and plans to the end of this year put into operation, the new R & D laboratories will become part of BASF's global R & D network, development and application of Technology Center will focus on the Japanese battery industry to improve service and customized solutions.
It is reported, in Japan, Amagasaki city construction project of the BASF cost millions of euros, the first batch of researchers will start work in a new laboratory in April this year, other new office and laboratory will be put into operation in the end of this year. Laboratory construction area of 600 square meters, further expansion may be the future.
